GREEN LEGACY
LET’S LEAVE BEHIND SOMETHING GREEN

GREEN CAPITAL CHALLENGES

Green capital challenges are now taking place every month. These are challenges for the city’s residents, companies and institutions to motivate them to really do something to make it sustainable. Every month, enthusiastic city residents take on a special theme such as waste reduction, healthy food or generating their own energy.

Green Vibe
GREEN IMAGINATION

GREEN VIBE & GREEN LEGACY

During Nijmegen Green Capital, we would like to add a ‘green vibe’ in the shape of a cultural programme. This will include a festival programme, art routes and special land-art projects.

Green legacy stands for several exemplary projects that will be carried out in 2018 and with which we can really create a legacy for Nijmegen and the surrounding area. These include solar fields, EcoSchools, expanding Nijmegen’s heating network, many more green gardens (through Operation Steenbreek) and the visitor’s centre De Bastei, where the city, river and nature come together.
